Default HD-DVD as a movie format is dead...

...but what about HD-DVD as a storage media? I remember reading in several articles in the past that the HD-DVD media itself does not cost much more to produce than standard DVD media. Those same articles said Bluray Discs are VERY expensive, even though they hold about twice as much as HD-DVD. Still, I won't scoff at 15-20GB of backup storage, if I can get 2 of those discs for less than the price of 1 Bluray. Can't quote specific pricing, but I was just recalling what I've read in the past.

Your thoughts?
